For Athletes

  • Q: Who cares if my technique doesn’t look pretty… is it really worth the effort to record and analyze my form?
    A: Absolutely! Technique is not only important because it makes you faster, it’s also very important because you become more efficient and can therefore perform for longer with less risk of injury. Every athlete has the ability to improve, and technique is one of the critical components of performance.
  • Q: I have a coach. Why should I be part of CommuniTri?
    A: Even if you are working with your own hired coach, CommuniTri will help you maintain a record of your progress. It will help you revisit old mistakes and give you the ability to compare your old technique with your new technique. Many athletes only want their coach’s advice because they trust that the coach knows best. In these situations, share the post only with your coach.
  • Q: Why is CommuniTri better than simply sharing a video on Facebook or forums?
    A: Sure, you could take a video of yourself, upload it to your computer, crop/ edit and combine clips, upload it to Facebook or a forum for people to review or even email it. You can also save all those posts and emails and then compare it all on your computer to see your progress.
    But why go through that laborious process when you can do it so much more easily on CommuniTri for free? And at the same time, get access to professional coaches who can help you? And of course if you really want to share it on Facebook, you are more than welcome to share the post once it’s on CommuniTri.
  • Q: Do my friends really know what’s best for me?
    A: Maybe, maybe not. But you’ll never know if you don’t ask. Chances are, you have a few friends that you trust for advice in the sports we love. If you only want to get their advice, then simply only share the post with those mentors or fans.
  • Q: How is an Expert Coach identified?
    A: Anyone can request to be a coach on CommuniTri. However, all requests are reviewed by CommuniTri to ensure that their certifications are accurate. See more details on our Terms and Conditions page.
  • Q: If I’m not happy with my hired coach, can I get my money back?
    A: Yes. If you are not satisfied with a coaching interaction, you can email info@communitri.com anytime to request a full refund. You have 48 hours after the coach “completes the coaching session” to request a full refund.
  • Q: How and when can I cancel my subscription?
    A: You can cancel your subscription anytime. Once you cancel, you will not be charged in the subsequent billing cycle.
  • Q: Why can’t I upload more than a 5-minute clip?
    A: Quite simply, because no one will view a clip that’s longer than 5 minutes. In reality, you do not need to show more than a minute or two to diagnose potential issues. You have the ability to crop the video clips and combine multiple clips together to illustrate how you swim, bike and run. Please read through our Recording Guidelines for instructions on how to do that.
  • Q: How can I ensure my privacy on CommuniTri?
    A: We take privacy seriously. Please read through our privacy policy and terms and conditions. But most importantly, make sure you manage your privacy settings in your profile and on each video and picture that you post on the site.

 

For Coaches

  • Q: How do I get paid?
    A: Once you accept a request for a coaching session, the athlete’s funds are automatically held in escrow. Once you complete the coaching session, the funds will be released to you in 48 hours (unless the user requests a refund).
  • Q: What happens if I get a bad review?
    A: If you receive a bad review from a client, there is not much you can do other than try and learn how to improve for the next time. We do not believe in removing reviews unless they break any rules in our terms & conditions found on the home page. If you feel that a review is breaking our terms and conditions, please report it as inappropriate or email info@communitri.com
  • Q: What happens if a client is not satisfied with my analysis?
    A: If a client is not satisfied with your analysis, he or she has the ability to request a refund with 48 hours of you completing the coaching session. Therefore, you should not close the coaching session until you feel the client received what they were supposed to receive. If there is still contention, you can request to cancel the coaching session at anytime while its open. Your conversations will then be permanently removed. The client will have the opportunity to look for a new coach. The client WILL NOT have the ability to rate or review you if you cancel the session.
  • Q: Can I keep track of my athletes in CommuniTri?
    A: We are in the process of developing a “coaching corner” where coaches can manage all of their athletes. But for the time being, make sure you are following your client and maintain open communication with them.
  • Q: How do I establish a long-lasting relationship with an athlete on CommuniTri?
    A: There are a few ways to establish a long-lasting relationship with an athlete on CommuniTri. Request to follow an athlete that you coach. Encourage your athletes to join CommuniTri and stay in touch. And finally, develop instructional and useful videos or images to share with your followers.
